Tickets on Sale Now

Purchase tickets now for Cook It Raw BBQ Perspectives Charleston, an international culinary symposium, in association with Grow Food Carolina and Food Day 2013. Cook it Raw was developed to garner collaborative discussion and culinary innovation, giving chefs a chance to partner with local producers to better understand their relationship to a region and its historic cuisine. Honing in on BBQ techniques and indigenous ingredients, they will focus on southern food, its relationship to the environment, and its ability to preserve traditions.

Prior to the event, chefs will immerse themselves in the local food culture, seeing how local producers live and cultivate their products. On the night of the public event Chef Sean Brock, of Husk, and BBQ Pit Master Rodney Scott, of Scott’s BBQ, will host over 40 internationally renowned chefs at Bowen’s Island Restaurant. Chefs will create individual courses that translate their experience into culinary form.

The interactions fostered by Cook It Raw encourage professional evolution, as well as preservation of traditional cuisine and food culture at the chosen destination. BBQ Perspectives Charleston will be a once in a lifetime opportunity to participate in the first public iteration of this event.

Tickets are $100 per person and include food and beverage. $5 from each ticket will go to Grow Food Carolina.

Cook it Raw is in its 5th year and will not likely be held in Charleston again. Prior locations include Suwalki, Poland, Ishikawa Prefecture, Japan, Lapland, Collio, Italy, and Copenhagen, Denmark.

Please visit the Cook It Raw BBQ Perspectives Charleston for more information on local participants and details for the day of the event.
